1. Why sizing is required in the weaving industry?
= sizing is required on warp yarn of woven fabric during weaving to protect the warp yarn from breakage due to over friction.
2. Why carding is called heart of spinning?
= In a carding machine, fiber is converted into silver and most of the impurities are reduced by this carding machine in spinning, so it is called the heart of spinning. If the carding process is not proper then it may produce low quality yarn.
3. Why yarn tenacity is measured rather than tensile strength?
= Tenacity means force per unit count and Tensile strength means force per unit area. Yarns have no uniform cross-sectional area along the length, so tenacity is used to describe fiber cross-sectional area.
4. Why CRE is better than CRL?
=In CRL principle, to obtain the same amount of strength in a shorter specimen, the required load is higher than a longer specimen.
then result for same yarn ( shorter specimen & longer specimen) can be varied. But CRE gives almost constant for both type of yarn. So, CRE is mostly used.
5. Why cotton is called king of fiber?
= Because most of the apparel made from cotton fiber
6. What is Denim fabric?
= 3/1 twill structure woven fabric and its warp yarn is Colored by Vat dye and its weft yarn is normally white.
7. Why mercerization is done?
= Mercerization is done for cotton fabric at room temperature by 10%caustic solution to improve absorbency of the material for level dyeing.
8. What are the requirements to be a textile fiber?
=To be a textile fibre it should have some of the essential characteristics like minimum length to insert twist, strength, fineness, cohesiveness, rigidity or stiffness, elongation and elasticity etc.
9. What are the different between Crease and wrinkle in fabric?
=Normally crease produces intentionally and straight line. Ex:- After ironing fabric
Wrinkle produces randomly due to wearing the dress.
10. What do you mean by E-textile?
= Electronic textile is the fabric that contains electronic components such as light, batteries, sensors to be embedded in them.
