Constructive Features of various types of knit fabric
***Single Jersey:
1. Only the knit cam is used for knitting.
2. The knitting loop is formed through the needle and sinker.
3. The loop head is straight.
4. The courses on the face side are straight and parallel.
***Interlock:
1. The loop head appears on both sides of the fabric.
2. Needles work according to specific rules.
3. The fabric is relatively soft.
4. 50% of the needles work on the 1st counter, and the other 50% work on the 2nd counter.
***Pique / Lacoste:
1. Made on a single jersey machine.
2. Cam setting is adjusted according to the design.
3. Both fabrics have a face side resembling a beekeeper pattern.
4. The back side of S/L resembles the back side of single jersey.
5. The back side of Pique is similar to the back side of rib or interlock.
***Fleece, Terry Fleece / French Terry:
1. Made on a single jersey machine.
2. Cam setting is required based on the design.
3. The face side of both fabrics is similar to that of single jersey.
4. Fleece has large and thin open loops, while terry fleece / French terry has small and dense open loops.
***Stripe:
1. There are two or more rows of colored yarns along the width.
2. Prior to knitting, the colored yarns need to be arranged in the feeder according to the design.
3. If a large amount of yarn is required, i.e., if more feeders are needed, an automatic stripe (unlimited feeder) machine is utilized.
